The unusually high current delivery from the VK-50SE demands larger value output capacitors in order to reveal a new reference level of bass performance. Rather than relying on far less expensive polypropylene capacitors, Balanced Audio Technology instead incorporates an exclusive SIX-PAK™ of oil capacitors to preserve the integrity of the signal. Many different premium capacitors were evaluated in listening tests for their sonic performance and immunity to shock and vibration. Custom oil-filled capacitors proved best on both counts.
